Composite bonding, a procedure that takes about thirty minutes to an hour, is used to repair teeth that have been chipped, cracked, or discoloured. Bonding is also used as a way of replacing silver amalgam (mercury) fillings and to fill in the gaps between teeth (Please see Gallery).

After selecting a shade of composite bonding material that closely matches the patients' tooth, Dr. Hui slightly roughens the surface of the tooth and applies a liquid that helps the bonding material stick to the tooth. Once the resin is applied and smoothed into the appropriate shape, it is hardened with a high intensity light and polished until the tooth resembles the others.
